Santa Cruz Pasta Factory’s deployment of mobile devices enables efficiencies from factory to fork
In 2007, Steve Simonovich decided to face entrepreneurship head-on. He opened a high-end deli in Scotts Valley, CA — roughly 70 miles south of San Francisco — specializing in pasta plates and sandwiches, but also provided customers with pasta and ravioli to purchase by the pound. About a year into his endeavor, Simonovich determined a deli or restaurant was not a sustainable venture. After exploring options about how to maintain and expand upon his passion for cooking and his love for fresh pasta, Simonovich concluded becoming a wholesaler was his best option. He closed the deli and switched gears to become strictly a pasta manufacturer. Thus, the Santa Cruz Pasta Factory was born.
